Investment Objective

The objective of the strategy is to maximize the total return while maintaining a desirable Sharpe ratio throughout the trading period. This project involves both technical analysis and fundamental analysis. In the coin selection process, fundamental analysis is being used in order to help determine which coin should be invested in. The coins we choose are Cardano (ADA), Binance (BNB), and Bitcoin (BTC). In the algorithm trading part, we mainly focus on technical analysis tools: Simple Moving Average (SMA) and Relative Strength Index (RSI). SMA lines are used for generating both selling and buying signals determined by the crossover of two SMA lines. For RSI, this indicator is used for confirming the buying and selling signal once again after we get the signal from using SMA, or in some cases, it can also provide the buying/selling signal by itself. For the risk management purpose, we decide to divide the portfolio weight into 4:4:2 for BNB, ADA, and BTC respectively, so that we can generate a high profit while reducing a portion of risk by the effect of diversification.
